This Licensing & Usage Policy governs how music purchased from Boldhorn Press may be used. By downloading or using our materials, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. Grant of Licence
Upon purchase, Boldhorn Press grants the buyer a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
-
Print and reproduce copies solely for use within one ensemble
-
Rehearse and perform the work publicly
-
Store the PDF files for internal ensemble use
This licence does not transfer ownership of the work.
2. Restrictions
Without prior written permission from Boldhorn Press, you may not:
-
Distribute or share PDF files outside your ensemble
-
Upload files to public websites, forums, or cloud services
-
Edit, arrange, or create derivative works
-
Resell, loan, or sub-license the music

3. Educational & Youth Ensembles
School groups, youth bands, and community ensembles may make as many copies as reasonably required for internal use only.
Sharing with other schools or organisations is prohibited unless a multi-ensemble licence is purchased.
4. Performances
Purchasing sheet music does not include performance licensing.
Live performances in the UK may be subject to PRS for Music licensing, typically handled by the venue or organiser.
5. Recordings & Broadcasts
You may record performances for non-commercial use (e.g., YouTube, social media, promotional content) provided that:
-
The composer/arranger is credited
-
The PDF is not displayed or shared
Commercial recordings, monetised videos, and broadcast uses require written permission or a separate agreement.
6. Customisations
Alternative parts or adaptations created by Boldhorn Press are covered under the same single-ensemble licence unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Commissions
Commissioned works are subject to a tailored contract specifying:
-
Rights retained by Boldhorn Press or the composer
-
